Account — Capital Accounts

The Capital Accounts feature in Manager.io allows you to manage equity accounts for owners or partners. This guide explains how to rename the built-in Capital Accounts account and adjust its settings.

Accessing the Capital Accounts Form

To rename the Capital Accounts account:

  1. Navigate to the Settings tab.
  2. Click on Chart of Accounts.
  3. Locate the Capital Accounts account in the list.
  4. Click the Edit button next to the Capital Accounts account.

Fields in the Capital Accounts Form

When editing the Capital Accounts account, you will encounter the following fields:

Name

  • Description: This is the name of the account as it will appear in your financial statements.
  • Default Value: Capital Accounts
  • Action: You may rename this account to suit your business's terminology or preferences.

Code

  • Description: An optional code for the account.
  • Action: Enter an account code if you use codes to organize your chart of accounts.

Group

  • Description: Determines under which group the account will appear on the Balance Sheet.
  • Action: Select the appropriate group to categorize this account correctly in your financial statements.

Saving Changes

After making any desired changes:

  • Click the Update button to save.

Note: The Capital Accounts account cannot be deleted. It is automatically added to your chart of accounts when you create at least one capital account.
