Businesses

The Businesses tab is the first screen you see when you open the Manager application. It acts as a gateway to access a specific business entity.

Businesses

On this screen, you will find a list of all the businesses you have added. You can select the one you wish to work on by clicking on its name.

Creating a New Business

To create a new business, click the Add Business button and then select the Create New Business option from the drop-down menu. See Create New Business for more information.

Importing an Existing Business

To import an existing business, click on the Add Business button, followed by the Import Business option. See Import Business for more information.

Deleting a Business

To delete an existing business, click on the Remove Business button next to the business you wish to remove. See Remove Business for more information.

Backing Up Your Business Data

If you use the Desktop Edition, it's crucial to regularly back up your business or businesses to avoid losing data. While the Cloud Edition automatically backs up your data, you have the option to create your own backups, just as you would with the Desktop Edition, for added security. See Backup for more information.

Compacting Your Data File

As transactions, customers, suppliers, assets, inventory items, accounts, and attachments are entered, edited, and possibly deleted, the accounting data file for a business can grow larger than necessary. You can compact the data file size by going to the Businesses screen and clicking on the file size displayed next to a business. See Vacuum for more information.

Changing the Application Data Folder (Desktop Edition)

If you are using the Desktop Edition, your data is stored in the default application data folder. The default location depends on your operating system. However, you can easily move this folder by clicking the Change Folder button. This is useful if you want your data automatically saved in your preferred synced folder such as Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, iCloud, or similar services for automatic backup. See Change Folder for more information.

User Access and Permissions

If you're logged in as an Administrator on either the Cloud Edition or Server Edition, you'll be able to see all the businesses. If you're not an administrator, you'll only see the businesses that the administrator has assigned to you, which can be managed under the Users tab. See Users for more information.

Handling Corrupted or Incompatible Databases

Manager can refuse to open a corrupted business database. See Corrupted Database for more information.

Manager can also refuse to open a business database that has been imported from a newer version. See Newer Version Required for more information.
