Account — Fixed assets, accumulated depreciation

The Fixed Assets Accumulated Depreciation account is a built-in account in Manager that tracks the accumulated depreciation of your fixed assets. You have the flexibility to rename and configure this account to better fit your accounting needs.

Accessing the Account Settings

To edit the Fixed Assets Accumulated Depreciation account:

  1. Go to the Settings tab.
  2. Click on Chart of Accounts.
  3. Locate the Fixed Assets Accumulated Depreciation account.
  4. Click the Edit button next to the account name.

Account Fields

When editing the account, you will encounter the following fields:

Name

  • Description: The name of the account.
  • Default: Fixed Assets Accumulated Depreciation.
  • Note: You can rename this account if desired.

Code

  • Description: An optional code for the account.
  • Usage: Enter a unique code if you utilize account codes for organization or sorting.

Group

  • Description: The group under the Balance Sheet where this account will appear.
  • Usage: Select the appropriate group to categorize this account effectively.

Saving Changes

After making your changes, click the Update button to save them.

Important Notes

  • This account cannot be deleted. It is automatically added to your Chart of Accounts when you create at least one fixed asset.
